Hey y’all I was thinking about organizing a workshop at my place (Trešnjevka) or in Otvoreni Studio Keramike if Milenka has a free time slot in the week from 16th – 22nd of June, from 6-8 or 9 in the evening let’s say.
2 ideas for the workshop: cyanotype & art circle. Cyanotype is an alternative photographic technique that uses UV light and photosensitive liquid to create beautiful blue reproductions. You can use my illustrations, bring your own or use plant material. If we’ll be making cyanotypes we have to do it at my place because I have a box with UV lights. It can also be done in the sun but that’s very unreliable because of the clouds, rain etc. Another suggestions is a general art workshop or let’s say something like ‘art practice circle’ where everyone brings their own project to work on, we chat and have drinks. I can show you my watercolor practice which I’ve been very immersed into lately.

Dorla! This is fantastic! I once was at her cyanotype workshops and results and conversation were fantastic!! I very much support this initiative! Unfortunately, OSK is not available at the moment for such a great event!! I am so sorry for that. But I would definitely try to join if the scheduled date matches!

I guess this will happen after summer… I would love to join. I have been experimenting a little my self last week! But I didn
t prepare the the paper I used and it wasnt the beautiful quality I saw Dora uses… So looking forward! -
Milenka & Stephanie those are great! Yeah I proposed a workshop in June because I wasn’t sure who’s going be in Zagreb during summer (and I have to prepare my cyanotype exhibition for 16th of October – save the date!!). Not many people reacted so I thought there’s not much interest yet maybe many people didn’t even see my proposal on the forum… We could definitelly have a workshop at my place in the beginning of September? Here’s the photo in attachment of what I’m preparing for the exhibition in October! Ton of work :O

Hey everybody, after proposed date in June I couldn’t find time to have a workshop because the preparation for the cyanotype exhibition has been exhausting and so much more time consuming than I anticipated! However, I might have a workshop in October along with the exhibition and it will probably be free. I will keep you updated!

I’ve never tried doing cyanotypes and I’m so curious but I’m so far!!! Any chance this can be also online workshop or perhaps written with guidelines for dummies to follow at our own pace? 👀

Hey Mek! We actually have a confirmed date and only 1 space left at our cyanotype workshop in gallery CEKAO in Zagreb on 29th of Oct. For anybody in Zagreb – feel free to contact me at orlabirdorla@gmail.com to claim a spot. Unfortunately, this workshop has to be in person because we’re using the chemicals specific for this process. If you end up deciding to do it on your own I can let you know where to order the chemicals and how to make cyanos. I don’t have a whole online lecture because it would be so time consuming to create, but I’m here for any questions about the whole process!
