I’m Flaminia, a biologist who has been conducting a scientific and artistic project finalised to enhance the supply chain of native Italian wools. My idea has as its primary objective that of recovering the raw fleeces of rustic sheep used in the meat and milk supply chain which are currently considered by the European directive, a non-valuable agricultural by-product, to transform them through manual processing methods, into furnishing accessories and decorative panels. The aim is to create products of high artistic crafts impact completely handmade, from carding the fiber, to spinning to obtain the yarn, up to the application of manual weaving by means of a 4-heddle loom. This modern reinterpretation of traditional ancestral gestures, aims to create an authentic, natural and sustainable final product which have connotations linked to tradition and at the same time to innovation.
